Clean The Acrylic On Tanning Bed

A good tanning bed disinfectant can keep tanning beds safe

To keep tanning beds hygienic they need to be thoroughly cleaned with a tanning bed disinfectant. Clean the acrylic on tanning bed with the same you use on the rest of the bed.

It is very important to keep your bed hygienic, even if you are the only one using the bed. Whether you want to admit it or not, we all carry germs and bugs on our body, even if they don’t make us sick.

If we leave these nasty little bugs on our tanning bed they have the perfect conditions to grow and spread, and they just might come back and get you the second time.

  1. Use a disinfectant recommended by the manufacturer or dealer. If none was recommended then purchase a disinfectant that is equivalent to the germicides used in hospitals.
  2. After each use wipe both the top and bottom bed sheets of acrylic with the disinfectant. This will remove gems and bugs, as well as lotions, body oils, dirt and makeup. Once you’ve sanitized the areas where the body comes in contact, wipe down the exterior casing, the acrylic around the lamps, and the floor around the booth.
  3. Don’t forget to remove your used towels and replace with fresh ones for next session. Lastly wipe off your tanning lotion bottles and clean your goggles so they are ready for next session.
  4. Every second use, you should make a visual inspection of the tanning unit. If you see any dirt, you should immediately remove it with your cleaning solution.
  5. Once a week remove the top and bottom acrylic sheet and clean both sides. Remove the lamps and wipe off any dust that has accumulated. Dust filters the light reducing the effect of your tan.
  6. Once a month you should vacuum all the fans, grills, and vents to remove dust and grease. Vacuum any air conditioning or heating ducts in the room also. You should also wipe down the reflector materials on the bed so there is no dirt or dust to hinder your tanning.
  7. At least every couple of months you should check the condition of the bulbs, fans, and all moving parts to make sure your bed is functioning optimally.
  8. Never skip the cleaning process, no matter how big of a hurry you might be in. Don’t get comfortable with the idea that it’s only “you” using the bed. Germs have a remarkable way of spreading and how attractive will you be with that gorgeous tan and a horrible case of foot fungus? Yes that will be attractive won’t it? Be diligent, make it part of your tanning routine.

Having a tanning bed at home is so much more relaxing and convenient. No appointments to figure out and then keep, all the privacy you want, and you can take comfort in knowing your bed is sanitized to your standards.
