Sunless Tanning Bed
Airbrush tanning machines are sometimes called the do not burn tanning beds
You’re getting married in the early spring but you want that perfect tan without the safety risks. Why not use the sunless tanning bed? These are often referred to as the do not burn tanning beds, or airbrush tanning machines. What ever you want to call them, they are a perfect solution with no health risks.
Airbrushing is gaining in popularity, especially for special occasions. You can get the exact tan you want just by having one or more sessions. No health risks, you’ll look great, and no one will be able to tell it isn’t the real thing. The spray tanning booths spray you with a safe dye that has no side effects.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the new sunless tanning booths pose no health risks. That’s because they spray with DHA which is a colorless chemical that interacts with the skin to produce a brown change. Since the top layer of skin is dead and constantly being shed away, your spray tan will only last 5-7 days.
DHA is not absorbed through the skin into body, and it has no known toxicity. It was actually discovered by accident in Germany back in the 1920s. It has been used in cosmetic preparations for over 25 years, and is just making its way onto the tanning scene.
Your other option is to get your tan in a bottle. The sun in the bottle we buy these days is far superior from the products on the market a few years ago. Remember those wonderful orange shades? You would instantly know if someone had used one of these products.
Today these products produce a deep rich brown that will fool even your toughest critics. There are no tell tale signs that your tan came out of a bottle.
For both bottle tans, and air brushed tans, remember to exfoliate and moisturize prior to application. By sloughing away dead skin your tan will adhere better and look more natural.
Keeping the skin well moisturized with also help you achieve a more even tan. Also remember to apply only a light coating on areas such as elbows, and make sure you don’t apply it to the palms of the hands which don’t normally tan.
A spray booth tan will last between 5 and 7 days. A bottle tan will last the same amount of time but is easily continuously applied so that there is no noticeable fading. You can do this with an airbrush tan as well, but it is fairly costly at between $45 and $60 per spray. $20 will buy you a bottle that should provide 20 or more applications.
The choice is yours - airbrushing or bottle. Which ever you choose you’re not only going to be a blushing bride, your going to have that tropical tan you’ve always dreamed of.
